I wasn’t trying to paint a landscape, but a feeling — that space we all need when life feels full, noisy, or heavy. A place where the mind slows down and the body can breathe again.
The vertical forms suggest presence, memory, maybe traces of what once was. The open sky holds space for calm, reflection, and stillness. Everything is intentionally soft, layered,… and grounded, inviting you to rest your eyes and your thoughts.
I want you to feel what I feel when I paint these moments: a gentle balance between movement and quiet, between what we carry inside and what we choose to release.

Marie Manon Corbeil began to paint amidst personal challenges:‘Between sadness and hope, there was art’. Realizing that life’s difficulties provided her with a new means of expression, Corbeil wants to convey a sense of joy within her contemporary abstract works. She draws forms and writes positive words under each canvas before beginning a piece. Employing large brushes to provoke unplanned strokes, she also uses her fingers to optimize the vibrant colors in her compositions.
