I painted this as a place to stand when everything outside feels unstable.
When the noise is constant, when the headlines keep changing, and nothing feels predictable, I needed something steady beneath my feet.
This painting is that quiet ground for me.
It isn’t about reacting or resisting. It’s about slowing down, feeling the weight of the moment, and choosing to stay present anyway. The layers settle, the movement softens, and what remains is… a sense of calm — something solid to return to.
I hope this painting can offer the same to you.

Marie Manon Corbeil is an established Canadian contemporary artist whose expressive paintings have found collectors around the world. Based in Calgary and originally from Montréal, she has sold more than 1,000 original artworks, now held in private collections across 23 countries.
Her work has been exhibited internationally in Paris, London and Vienna, as well as throughout Canada. Moving between abstraction and figurative expression, Marie is known for bold colour, intuitive marks, layered storytelling and her distinctive portrayals of women.
Marie began painting during a difficult period in her life, when art became a way to express what words could not. What began as a path toward healing grew into a full-time international career spanning more than 15 years.
Her paintings explore resilience, dignity, women, human connection and hope. She leaves space for viewers to find their own stories within her work.
