About this artwork
I'm really enjoying my new series on Elegant Women. It reminds me of playing with dolls and dressing them up when I was a child. I paint women of all shapes, sizes, and nationalities, and dress them in beautiful outfits, including dresses, fascinator hats, and trendy styles. Some of my paintings simply highlight the beauty of the feminine form.
Marie is a strong believer in equality for women. She believes that women deserve access to education,… decent work, the ability to participate in democratic processes, an equal share of scientific progress, and cultural life. In one of her powerful paintings, Marie seeks to honor working women, women on the runway, women in love, women who choose their own paths, and women who sacrifice for their children.
One of Marie's favorite quotes is "Every choice you make today will lead you closer or further away from the life you desire to live." She encourages people to envision the best of themselves.
« I breathe art, I eat art and I am happy. Art is in my blood. Art is my life. »
Marie Manon Corbeil began to paint amidst personal challenges:‘Between sadness and hope, there was art’. Realizing that life’s difficulties provided her with a new means of expression, Corbeil wants to convey a sense of joy within her contemporary abstract works. She draws forms and writes positive words under each canvas before beginning a piece. Employing large brushes to provoke unplanned strokes, she also uses her fingers to optimize the vibrant colors in her compositions.
