About this artwork
When I painted this piece, I was dreaming of peace and tranquility in a world that often feels overwhelming and chaotic. I wanted to create a balance between the abstract cityscape on the right—a representation of the bustling, unpredictable energy of life—and the oversized flowers, which symbolize serenity, hope, and nature’s ability to soothe our souls.
The flowers almost feel like they’re reaching out, softening the edges of the chaos, reminding… us that beauty and calm can be found even in the most unpredictable places. The gentle, flowing colors and layered brushstrokes reflect the emotions I felt while creating this—a longing for stillness and a deep appreciation for the moments when life feels harmonious.
As you look at this piece, I hope it brings you a sense of peace, a reminder that no matter how chaotic things may seem, tranquility is always within reach.
« I breathe art, I eat art and I am happy. Art is in my blood. Art is my life. »
Marie Manon Corbeil began to paint amidst personal challenges:‘Between sadness and hope, there was art’. Realizing that life’s difficulties provided her with a new means of expression, Corbeil wants to convey a sense of joy within her contemporary abstract works. She draws forms and writes positive words under each canvas before beginning a piece. Employing large brushes to provoke unplanned strokes, she also uses her fingers to optimize the vibrant colors in her compositions.
