About this artwork
The sea turtle has morphed into a partial machine form, while industrial debris float around and below the creature. She made the abaca paper very thin and translucent, and printed on the surface as well as collaging prints onto it. Using pigment to color the paper, she followed the passages of pulp-painted white areas to place the objects, and used acrylic washes to heighten the objects.
