Whether in wild areas or well-tended gardens, the fine details of natural beauty constantly attract my attention. Within each stem, leaf or flower lie structures and systems that define shape, colour, texture, scent, etc. …worlds within worlds within worlds.
Recent rain, morning dew or an overnight frost add layers of intrigue: is the external force nourishing or potentially damaging?
The quality of natural light can change rapidly, making a… certain detail ‘pop’ out. Or, completely drain the framed elements – at least until a cloud passes.
When getting ‘up close and personal’ with a macro lens, a tiny area can hold my imagination for an extremely long time!
