About this artwork
"TOTEM V" is one of the works in the series created during 2024 to complement the presentation we gave at the Caja de Cristal galleries in the Banco Ciudad de Buenos Aires headquarters during July and August of that year. The theme I propose is that these are future projects for human habitation, intended for the conquest of outer space, beginning with Earth's natural satellite, the Moon, and continuing with one of the planets already being explored,… the red planet, Mars. In these images, I try to convey a sense of silence, speed, peace, and weightlessness. The idea is that whoever installs it in their home will experience that same sensation while enjoying it.
Mario Agatiello is a painter who works primarily with acrylic paints on canvas stretched over a wooden frame and framed in a durable, shiny gold anodized aluminum frame. His style is characterized by the technical mastery of depicting human constructions in space, using brushes, rulers, and compasses to achieve precise forms and gradated colors. His works evoke an atmosphere of silence, suspended movement, and weightlessness, conveying a profound sense of peace and contemplation.
