About this artwork
The composition is extremely dense, with almost no breathing space: the faces overlap and fit together in a structure made of broken lines, geometric planes, and multiple profiles.
The echo of Pablo Picasso's language is evident, especially in the decomposition of faces and the simultaneity of points of view, but here it is reinterpreted in a softer, more narrative key.
The use of color is particularly successful: the cold tones (blue, lilac, aquatic… greens) interact with sudden warm accents of red and pink, creating an emotional tension between melancholy and vitality.
The red lips and some dark contours act as focal points that guide the eye through the chaos.
