About this artwork
In the work "glow No. 1," I captured the power of color and form to create a quiet tension. It was built up in multiple layers of color, inspired by the color field painting of Abstract Expressionism (created by Mark Rothko, Francis, Frankenthaler, Rauschenberg, Newman, etc.), with blending monochrome color fields composed entirely of professional oil paints. Through the layered structure, which requires several months to dry, the painting creates… an intense viewer-image relationship focused purely on the color.
It is signed on the back and ready to hang.
The interplay of rich green and warm orange invites you to immerse yourself in a meditative calm. It reflects the balance between opposites and brings a calming yet invigorating energy to your space. Every line flows with intention to evoke emotion and depth.
« Art reflects, confronts and amuses. It never floats in a vacuum but arises in a social environment. »
My work explores the complex interactions between humans and nature, focusing on overlooked botanical life forms. My practice combines oil painting, drawing, and printmaking into a visual research that reflects ecological issues, species extinction, and sustainability. By aesthetically highlighting wild plants, I create a sensitive link between scientific observation and artistic interpretation. My work has been presented in numerous exhibitions both nationally and internationally and is held in private collections.
"Art reflects, confronts, and amuses. It never exists in a vacuum. Humans and nature live in coexistence." (Marion Pilz)
