About this artwork
The artwork titled "reflective" shows a calm, deep blue water surface that appears almost completely smooth – only gentle ripples distort the reflection of the sky and the surroundings. In this work, I have captured the flowing energy of water, which is gentle yet powerful at the same time. The color blue dominates the image in various nuances: from a light, almost silvery azure to a dark, almost inky navy blue. The water's surface acts like a natural… mirror, capturing and refracting the light. Individual reflections of light – perhaps rays of sunlight or the shimmer of moonlight – dance on the water as if they were alive. The result is a play of light and shadow, depth and surface, reality and reflection.
It brings a calming, almost meditative atmosphere into any room and invites you to delve deeply into your own world of thoughts.
« Art reflects, confronts and amuses. It never floats in a vacuum but arises in a social environment. »
My work explores the complex interactions between humans and nature, focusing on overlooked botanical life forms. My practice combines oil painting, drawing, and printmaking into a visual research that reflects ecological issues, species extinction, and sustainability. By aesthetically highlighting wild plants, I create a sensitive link between scientific observation and artistic interpretation. My work has been presented in numerous exhibitions both nationally and internationally and is held in private collections.
"Art reflects, confronts, and amuses. It never exists in a vacuum. Humans and nature live in coexistence." (Marion Pilz)
