About this artwork
In the "The Death of (tomorrow) II" series I reference Andy Warhol's iconic Flower paintings from 1964. I offer a contemporary twist by incorporating a digital neo-cubist style and allusions to glitch art. An algorithm I use randomly modifies colors and fractures the image plane, creating a sense of digital disruption and distortion, reminiscent of looking through a broken mirror.
With a staggering 2,000 individual artworks already completed and… a planned total of 40,000 when finished, the abundance evokes the imagery of flowers at a funeral. This suggests a commentary on the "death of art" in the digital age, raising questions about the role and value of art in contemporary society; a contemporary reflection on Vanitas and Memento mori themes in the context of digital and generative art.
These works invite viewers to contemplate the changing landscape of art in the digital age and the potential implications of AI and technology on the future of art.
« My artworks function as abstract metaphors that resonate in an unconscious, gut-level way and deliver a quasi-remembered experience. The digital abstract forms convey poetic meaning, memory, and emotion. »
