About this artwork
Kalliste was a sea nymph in Greek mythology. She was the daughter of Triton and lived on the island now known as Santorini. This 24" x 36" left-handed abstract oil painting explores the use of grids and geometric shapes in the service of light and color in the landscape. "Kalliste" was inspired by a brilliant sunset over the ocean. I really love playing strong the strong contrasts of the warm reds and orange hues in the sky and reflection against…
the cool blues and violets of the water. The edges are painted neutral grey and the canvas is wired and ready to hang.
