About this artwork
Based on a real world interior - Warsaw University of Technology - 'The Memory Palace' shows a version of reality, altered through the process of painting. The layers of paint, from heavy impasto to the thinnest of glazes, loosen time's grip on its sense of place, making it (hopefully) a more timeless architecture; a space in which to explore our sense of sense in relation to what we leave behind.

« There's an inherent melancholy in my work, as each image represents something already gone. It is the seeing of things for the last time. »
