About this artwork
In this oil painting, I've poured my soul into an abstract dance of colors and forms. I've played with the fluidity of organic shapes, blurring the lines between the imagined and the real, urging viewers to slow down and explore the depths of their emotions. This piece will infuse any room with a sense of tranquility and reflection, inviting a gentle pause in the hustle of daily life.

« Painting is an act of liberation and I allow the process to ultimately create the meaning behind my work. »
Marlene Lowden is an artist based in Canada whose paintings have been featured in several solo and group exhibitions nationally. She cites women's history, the women of the Abstract Expressionist movement in the 1940s, and the rise of the feminist art movement of the 1960s, as having been influential on her signature mark-making style. Lowden's gestural artistic expression conveys energy and emotion, linking to beauty to chaos, and the "wildly female qualities of nature".
