About this artwork
This painting breathes the raw, pulsating energies that lie dormant deep within me. Using oil paints, I have captured the tension between stillness and movement, with the vertical lines resembling sparks of a rising fire. It is meant to symbolize the power of new beginnings and continuous growth. This work brings a subtle dynamism and, at the same time, harmony to any room in which it hangs.

Marlene Schanz is a self-taught painter who has been experimenting with color, intuition, and direct hand contact since 2011, independently developing her own unique visual language. She works with a poetic blend of abstraction and subtle figuration, employing surreal moods, symbols such as fish and moons, and multifaceted color harmonies. Her works create intimate, almost ethereal spaces and powerfully convey a longing for memory, balance, and a sense of inner freedom.
