About this artwork
In “Bahia,” my intention was to capture the duality between the calm of the sea and the imposing force of nature. I used thick textures and materials that provide relief to achieve a tactile, almost three-dimensional surface. The curved composition guides the eye throughout the work, evoking the movement of water and creating a transition between the visible and the hidden. The earthy, green and reddish colors at the bottom contrast with the softer…
tones at the top, symbolizing life beneath the surface and the serenity of the sea.
This work seeks to balance the visual with the sensorial. The shadows cast on the textures change depending on the light, giving it a dynamic quality that interacts with the viewer. With "Bahía", I wanted to convey both peace and respect for the power of nature, creating a space where both forces coexist in harmony.
