About this artwork
"The Sailboat" is a work in which I have sought to convey calm and a sense of immensity. I have worked with a soft palette, where earth and ochre tones provide texture and depth, contrasting with the diffuse and ethereal background.
The central line, with its nuanced texture, is the axis of the composition. I am interested in how the material provides presence, while the sky and the water dissolve into the same tone, almost without defined limits.… The sailboat, barely hinted at, is a vanishing point, an idea rather than a concrete image. I like how it suggests the idea of a journey, of something that is there but not imposing itself, almost floating in the scene.
The reflection in the water is an important part of the work. I wanted it to be perceived as something subtle, reinforcing the atmosphere without overloading it. I like how the loose brushwork allows the viewer to complete the image in their mind.
Marta Reina combines mixed media and acrylics, immersed in the world of art since her childhood. Using various spatulas and textures, her style evokes emotional abstraction, leading the viewer towards deep introspections about nature and the human condition. Her works radiate an introspective calm, resonating with the poetic serenity of the inner landscape.
