Nude 25 is part of a series in which I explore the expressive potential of the human figure through minimal surroundings and painterly abstraction. I am fascinated by how a simple pose can communicate tension, vulnerability and resilience at the same time.
The restrained grey background allows the body to emerge as the emotional centre of the composition. Loose brushwork and visible layers of paint preserve the immediacy of the painting process,… making the work feel both intimate and unfinished in a deliberate way.
For me, these paintings are not portraits of individuals but reflections on the shared human experience of being present within our own bodies.
