About this artwork
Where Heritage Meets Horsepower - AC Shelby Cobra
Few moments capture the spirit of Goodwood quite like the sight of an AC Shelby Cobra thundering through the Revival’s historic circuit. This original painting by Martin Allen pays homage to the father-and-son racing duo David and Oliver Hart, whose mastery of the Cobra has become legend.
Depicted here is their 2018 RAC TT Celebration triumph — a victory that began from pole and ended in glory.… David Hart launched the race; after the driver change, Oliver Hart took the wheel and powered the 1962 Cobra, its 4.7-litre 289 small-block engine roaring in perfect rhythm, across the line to claim an unforgettable win.
Rendered in oil with Martin Allen’s signature blend of realism and motion, AC Shelby Cobra – Original captures not just a machine, but a moment — the blur of speed, the scent of heritage, the thrill of victory.
This painting is based on a photo by Richard Huckett.
