About this artwork
St Mary’s Trophy
is a fine art car painting of Austin A35’s being pushed to the Assembly Area at the Goodwood Revival 2016. This particular car was driven by Ben Colburn who rolled it shortly after during the race. Colburn, who’d qualified third for the second part of the St Mary’s Trophy race, was running in the pack when his Austin drifted out onto the grass. With the car pitched into a broadside, the front tyres bit into the asphalt and sent… Colburn somersaulting into the Goodwood track’s long grass, leaving the poor little A35 looking pretty second hand. – Luckily Ben walked away unharmed and continues to race very successfully.
