ETERNAL MEMORY
The MYZEL photographs by Martin Ecker strive for a decoding of the elementary structures, to "something more real than the real" itself. Landscapes, buildings, people collapse in matter and form.
The MYZEL photograph shows an old Indian tomb that has been artistically processed. Through the MYZEL technique, the tomb appears to have been transformed into an eroded memory belonging to a different time and place. The photograph proves… that the moment existed but was transformed in a coenocytic process. The image invites the viewer to travel beyond what can be seen and experience the joy of discovery in a landscape of continuity.

Martin Ecker is a painter and photographer based in Germany whose works have been exhibited nationally. He cites space, time, and light playing a role in almost all of his compositions. In addition, Ecker's artistic practice favors experimentation with reactive processes and approaches. He has developed his own methods using living organisms in analog photography and also employs oxidation processes of precious metals his paintings.
