About this artwork
SYNCHRONOUS
VALLEY
An energetic impulse, analogously passed on to the camera, triggers a temporally correlating event, a synchronicity that has a reciprocal effect when viewing the work. A game between sharpness and blurring that creates a peotic force in Valley and is reminiscent of a quote from Rilke: "Turning to nature, preferring the eternal to the ephemeral, the deepest regularity to the temporarily justified."

« My work is dedicated to deciphering chance and intention. »
Martin Ecker is a painter and photographer based in Germany whose works have been exhibited nationally. He cites space, time, and light playing a role in almost all of his compositions. In addition, Ecker's artistic practice favors experimentation with reactive processes and approaches. He has developed his own methods using living organisms in analog photography and also employs oxidation processes of precious metals his paintings.
