About this artwork
A woman sits on a doorstep, held in the stillness that follows a quiet realisation. The street remains unchanged, bathed in warm light, yet the act of waiting has already ended.
Painting does not describe an absence. It confirms it. What lingers is not anticipation, but acceptance: a moment in which expectation dissolves.
Nothing in the scene demands attention. The bicycle rests, the architecture stands indifferent, and time continues without urgency.… In this pause, the figure remains composed, present inhabiting the space between what was hoped for and what is now understood.
Wojnowski, a Chelsea College of Art and Design alumnus, exercises his superb skills in acrylic paintings and interior design. Mesmerizing spectators through fine detail blended with expressive brushwork, he delineates a whimsical, dreamlike world where precision coexists with artistic freedom. He compels, through vibrant nuances of colour, a dive into an enchanting universe of nostalgia, playfulness and surrealism, ultimately sparking profound joy, reflection and momentary escape from reality.
