About this artwork
The work was created on canvas with acrylic colors. The subject was inspired by a walk in a forest near a river crossing. The reworked landscape evokes an idyllic place of peace, which seems suspended in an atmosphere of waiting and at the same time of passage. The rain brings well-being to nature, which returns to shine with colors and scents. The rain brings with it the energy of nourishment and therefore the awakening, the new beginning, the birth,… the beginning. Rain is the moment of transition necessary to open up to something new that is metaphorically liberating. Splashes and drips of color accentuate the wet effect and create light effects that illuminate nature. The technique used is halfway between impressionism and action painting. The palette I used goes from black to white, passing from blues to light greens which are spread on the canvas with a quick and instinctive pictorial gesture.
« My Art is 'where I know the way', it is the place where I feel free to communicate and I am always myself. »
Maryda Geraci is an Italian artist whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in the United States. She describes her artistic expression as the communication of short poetic stories, expressed through natural objects. Geraci's creative language is composed of signs and colors that are a reflection of herself, her sensitivity, what is happening around her, and the world she inhabits. She creates using acrylics and charcoal on canvas.
