I layered bold symbols and graphic forms to speak in a language that feels direct and uncompromising. Circles, stars, and signs float and stack, each carrying its own weight—peace, warning, hope, fragility—held together by strong black shapes and vivid contrasts of turquoise and red. I let paint drip and edges stay rough, allowing gravity and chance to leave their mark.
As I worked, words became part of the structure. Warmth, ardent love, endurance,… grandeur, cactus—these are not explanations, but declarations. They anchor the composition like a manifesto, grounding emotion in form and color.
In this piece, I am confronting complexity without softening it. I embrace contradiction, resilience, and intensity, using simple symbols to hold layered meaning. What remains is a visual statement—raw, honest, and steady—standing its ground without apology.
Masahito UJI is a top fashion designer in Japan. His clothes have been highly praised by the Japanese royal family, politicians and business celebrities for many years. He has loved painting since he was a child, and he picked up the brush again at the age of 70. With 40 years of experience in fashion design, he has flexible and diverse painting techniques. He is good at using ink and acrylic and other different materials to embody movement in stillness and stillness in movement. His colors are simple and bright, majestic but not heavy. His paintings bring warmth and joy to people, like a ray of light illuminating the tranquility of the heart. This is the first time I have published my artwork. I hope you like it.
