About this artwork
For me, it wasn't a picture, but a feeling of boundless vastness. I didn't want to paint the canvas, but to fill it with the energy you feel when you gaze into the distance.
The upper layers of dark blue and turquoise represent the sky, sometimes calm and clear, sometimes deeply melancholic. The bright, luminous yellows and greens beneath are the promise of the horizon – the untouched land, the fields, the light. The horizontal, almost rough brushstrokes… represent the movement of the gaze, the search for something new. It is the gaze that wanders from one end to the other, hoping that something exciting awaits on the horizon.
"Horizons" is my personal invitation to look ahead. It is a reminder that there are always new paths and undiscovered places, whether on a map or within ourselves.
