About this artwork
In my watercolor and gouache paintings I fuse semi-abstraction with impressionism to capture the raw energy and emotional landscapes of nature. With every brush stroke I transfer the movement and life of the mountains onto the canvas. This work is intended to create an atmosphere of awe and inspiration wherever it is placed.

« I paint landscapes that are less concerned with naturalistic reproduction as they are with capturing rhythms, the empty spaces in the landscape. »
It was his discovery of a surrealist exhibition in Munich at age 16 that set Oppermann on an artistic path. Inspired by mountains since childhood, he partners ‘en plein air’ painting with studio work to create unique representations of natural landscapes and people in motion.
