In this work I chose watercolor and gouache to create a dynamic energy expressed in the semi-abstract and expressionistic forms. The brushstrokes are fluid and intuitive, capturing the emotional landscape of my inner experience. The painting lives through its movement and variety of colors. It was his discovery of a surrealist exhibition in Munich at age 16 that set Oppermann on an artistic path. Inspired by mountains since childhood, he partners ‘en plein air’ painting with studio work to create unique representations of natural landscapes and people in motion.
