About this artwork
In my work, I explored the depths of abstraction through the use of oil and bright colors, such as deep turquoise, symbolize the tumultuous internal sea of our emotions and the continuous search for balance, which is placed before the strength of the overlapping of white that symbolizes the possibility of falling into oblivion. This painting invites us to reflect on the dynamism of life and the beauty hidden in its complexities.
Each of my oil… on canvas works is a long research, which starts from areas of color and then removes, digs, engraves, until finding the essence of the painting.

Maurizio Paccagnella is an award-winning Italian painter and sculptor whose works have been widely exhibited nationally, as well as in Morocco. Formerly a hyper-realistic artist, he abandoned this expression, as it has become too tied to formality and perfection. Paccagnella's artistic journey led him towards the path of abstraction, from which he creates blurred and evocative images that seem to "emerge from the memories of the time".
