About this artwork
I created this work using a mixed technique on canvas where the protagonist is a strong vertical movement of red that cuts the space. In the painting, I inserted a geometric structure in gray with repeated circular patterns that contrasts with freer and more gestural areas.
I worked the surface with layers of color: the intense red dominates the composition, while I placed two masses of emerald green in the upper part and inserted blue accents that… create focal points. The ivory white base deliberately shows the traces of my creative process, with scratches and overlapping of material.
This is a work that combines control and chance, where I explored the dialogue between defined geometric signs and the freedom of the pictorial gesture. I used different techniques - from painting to graphics - creating layers and textures on the surface of the canvas.
