About this artwork
In my paintings "Rust and Moss", I explore the poetics of aging and metamorphosis. I use plays of light and shadow to tell the story of the passage of time through rust, while moss symbolizes life and rebirth.
My works reveal the beauty hidden in organic textures and natural elements. I contrast earthy colors with vibrant tones like reds and blues, creating a unique visual dialogue.
Through these paintings, I invite observers to reflect on the… incessant cycle of life and death, and the intrinsic beauty of often overlooked transformations. My goal is to arouse emotions and stimulate a deeper connection with the nature around us.
The "Rust and Moss" series offers a contemporary look at the ephemeral beauty of the natural world, inviting you to discover the poetry hidden in decay and rebirth.
Mauro Caracuzzo emerges as a multidisciplinary artist, from figurative to abstract, excelling in techniques ranging from fresco to ceramic. His artistic exploration translates into works that mix delicacy and strength, through a very personal visual syntax. His creations evoke a profound emotional range, addressing the dichotomy of the human condition: loneliness and curiosity, hate and love, with a prevalence of the latter.
