Aquamarine is a diptych that invites a fragmented exploration of light and water. Through these two twin pieces, I seek to represent the vibration of shallow waters, where the sun shines directly on organic matter, revealing a palette of luminous turquoises and saline whites.
The use of material collage in this work is particularly tactile; the textures intertwine between the two canvases, creating a visual continuity that allows the work to 'breathe'… through the space that separates them. This breaking of the single plane brings a sense of freedom and freshness, evoking the constant ebb and flow of the tides.
