About this artwork
In Australia, a mailman is referred to as a "postie". Have you ever heard that the postie occasionally performs special favors? A delivery in more ways than one? This one entered my building…
I photographed a bike leaning against a wall in Moderna, Italy. The white wall contrasted well with the bike frame and the leading lines of the pavement. I then incorporated my photography, graphic design software, manipulation of the image, and a silk-screen… printing technique, overlayed with free-hand painting which results in unique artwork.
« My fine art is a mark of history and a moment in time. »
Merry is based in Australia and her paintings have been widely exhibited nationally and purchased globally. Describing herself as "Australia's Andy Warhol and Queen of Kitsch", she specialises in popular culture using a range of mediums and genres. Her work is full of heart surfing PopArt kitsch, a little tongue in cheek, a little bit posh and a little bit street art. Commissions are welcome.
