About this artwork
I saw Sir Paul McCartney in November 2023 and was stunned with his non-stop 4 hour performance - he was extraordinary - voice, strength, tune, stage presentation, agility, old songs, new songs, crowd interaction, relaxed atmosphere, light show.
Paul and the rest of the Beatles laid the foundation for melodic pop and rock and there will never be a group quite like them again. Paul was 24 when he wrote Yellow Submarine and this is my tribute to… him, and his song. In fact a toy - the yellow submarine became a marketing lever - how clever.
I painted a foundation of acrylic followed by oil on unstretched canvas measuring approximately 170 x 110cm so I can easily roll this artwork and place it in a cylinder which should be less expensive for you, the client. I advise you confer with Singlart about this matter.
« My fine art is a mark of history and a moment in time. »
Merry is based in Australia and her paintings have been widely exhibited nationally and purchased globally. Describing herself as "Australia's Andy Warhol and Queen of Kitsch", she specialises in popular culture using a range of mediums and genres. Her work is full of heart surfing PopArt kitsch, a little tongue in cheek, a little bit posh and a little bit street art. Commissions are welcome.
