Cowgirl: • “Star of the stable, queen of the rodeo”
With Cow Girl, I worked on a mix of tenderness and humor. It was a way to let go, to make myself smile, to reconnect with childhood memories.
I have always had a deep affection for cows. I love their calm, their reassuring presence and their nurturing role. They observe the world with imperturbable serenity, like silent guardians.
I chose to represent my cow as a fantasy “Cow Girl”, straight… from her imaginary Far West: cowhide chest, cowgirl hat, lasso, vest and bell… a figure that is at once amused, strong and feminine
It is also punctuated with references to the popular and advertising imagination of milk: The Laughing Cow, Milka chocolate and Guigoz milk enrich the work with a nostalgic dimension.
The base, decorated with bales of straw, milk jugs and carts, completes this rural scene
