Mic Linder is a Finno-Swedish artist with international exposure. In his paintings, human figures are abstracted into geometric shapes circumnavigated by dense, colorful, shifting backgrounds that inform the direction of the abstractions. In his works form, surface and color act as meaningful elements in an improvised, rhythmical and architectural display. By deriving principles of composition and harmonious/disharmonious visual proportions from figuration and translating it to abstract scales, Lindes creates a feeling that one is looking at something familiar.
