About this artwork
Checkpoint Charly, ein Ort voller Mythen: Innerdeutscher Grenzverlauf, Gefangenenaustausch, Mauerfluchtmuseum. Wenn ich in Berlin bin und die Friedrichstraße entlang gehe, von Osten, der ehemaligen DDR aus, führt mich der hier her, an den Punkt, an dem Jahrzehnte lang Ost und West zusammenprallten. Die Symbolik blieb erhalten, mit dem Bild zweier Soldaten, dessen Westseite ich in den Mittelpunkt stellte, in Person eines russischen Soldaten, während…
die Rückseite den amerikanischen Soldaten zeigt. Ein Szenerie, wie sie aktueller nicht sein kann.

About my future project: "Identidad - Tierra - Cultura". I will attempt to make a contribution by giving a face to some of the millions of Latin Americans who suffer poverty, abuse and aggression, consequences of drug wars, corruption and climate change by appreciating them through my photographic art. The main focus for the years 2025/26 shall be concentrated on the social situation in South America, spotting especially the life in Colombia, Ecuador and Argentina.
