About this artwork
This work deals with the compromises we make daily. It's always a meeting in the middle, to the disadvantage of both parties, since no one wins in a compromise. Yet they are necessary in our society, be it in politics or in daily life. This work was created to question the discrepancy in our daily decisions. Wouldn't it be better to simply say "no" sometimes, or, in a life-affirming sense, simply "yes"? Stahl beautifully illustrates this discrepancy.…
This work will change color over time, as it hasn't been oiled, so that we may continually re-examine it.
