About this artwork
Michael is obsessed with the shapes, colours, and industrial urban feel of New York’s fire hydrants, with their many different coats. With its stars and stripes this one seems about as American as you can get. He loves the vivid colours and contrasts of American pop art, so the fluorescent green works well with the urban feel of the hydrant.
This piece is created from an original photograph with the green background coloured digitally by hand.… The hydrant itself is untouched from the original picture. The image is printed on brushed aluminium to mimic the fire hydrant’s metallic appearance.
New York Fire Hydrant is made to order. It can usually be created and delivered in around 10-14 days. An aluminium subframe on the back makes it incredibly easy to hang.
