About this artwork
Michael's fascination with shapes and outlines influences much of his art. He is especially keen on aerial views, this is the best way to see the patterns of a city. To capture the iamge for this piece he hired a helicopter to fly over Los Angeles with the doors off to capture this bird's eye view of The Coliseum, the historic home of the Los Angeles Rams football team. He painstakingly coloured the photograph by hand digitally, including every…
one yard line. The image is printed on a super-slim sheet of brushed aluminium, which gives the piece an etched appearance. The green pitch contrasts nicely with the repeated lines of the stadium.
