About this artwork
This work, which is part of the Ithaca series, is a monochrome of gray worked in shadows and light using in turn brush, brush and knife in order to alternate smooth backgrounds and impression of reliefs.
It is a dive into abstraction and raw energy. A journey between shadow and light, between peace and turbulence, openness and confinement, between shivers and serenity where the eye constantly passes from one zone to another, alternately lost and… then reassured.

Michel Saint-Luc is a French painter who has exhibited in Spain, Germany, and France. Having been born and lived close to water his entire life, Saint-Luc's works reflect his passion for seascapes. He often blurs the horizons, allowing the eye the possibility to seize and redefine it. His figurative and abstract compositions are created using knives and painted with oils on canvas or cardboard.
