About this artwork
Selected and curated by Lilian Tone, curator at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMa) to be shown at a group show.
It belongs to my series "Wired".
while we find juxtaposition of elements in the landscape itself, there's also a contrast between emotions and perceptions. I represent it physically in the form of a painting, creating allegorical landscapes.
Art is not isolated from social and cultural context. It participates, it’s part of it and transforms… it.
Through subliminal symbolism, I make personal statements about social justice, global issues, gender equality, love and sometimes humor. I express hidden stories, thoughts and feelings. These are influenced by current events and issues that affect my inner world and the world, that belongs to us all.

« Art, for me, is the expression of our experiences, feelings, and ideas, through our medium of choice. Utilizing skills and concepts, aesthetically engaging the spectator, provoking thinking, discourse, and/or emotion. »
Michele Krauss is a Chilean-American award-winning artist based in Chile and the United States. Her paintings have been exhibited internationally in Chile, the United States, Japan, Australia, France, and Italy. Her works are personal statements that explore reflections on inner transformations shaped by the outer world, conveyed through layers of subtle symbolism. Krauss’s numerous relocations have found expression in compositions that at times carry a restless energy or a search for balance — an ever-shifting dialogue between stability and change, belonging and freedom, conformity and exploration.
