About this artwork
I created this work to capture the fusion of industrial realism and the poetry of light on water. Each cage and reflection evokes a tension between confinement and freedom, inviting you to dive into a universe that is both rigid and fluid. This digital piece will bring a mysterious and dynamic energy to your space, an invitation to contemplate the fragile balance of our modern environments.
In "The Launch of the Cages," I show the intricate design… of intertwined ropes used to construct lobster cages in a North Atlantic port. In April 2012, I was able to photograph hundreds of cages on the docks before the boats set off for the first launch of the cages offshore.

Montreal-born artist Micheline Couture works with textiles, paper materials, and digital printmaking, enriched by a solid background in fine arts and a long teaching career.
