Borrowings accompany the themes and concepts of my images: the blues of the sky and the sea, the movements, the volumes, the texture of the wood and the docks.

Montreal-born artist Micheline Couture works with textiles, paper materials, and digital printmaking, enriched by a solid background in fine arts and a long teaching career. She fuses traditional printmaking techniques, screen printing on fabrics, and new digital practices to produce delicate miniatures printed in limited editions on archival paper. Her works capture marine and desert atmospheres, silhouettes in motion, and convey a profound emotion, oscillating between the melancholy of landscapes and the luminous brilliance of island life.
