Part of the series Connections, this work reflects the painful distance that can grow between two people who once shared closeness. A male and a female figure sit back to back, their nude bodies touching while their emotions remain turned away from one another. Their closed poses reveal anger, disappointment, and wounded pride — the silent tension that can exist between two hearts.
Behind them, intense tones of gold and deep red rise like flames,… suggesting the burning atmosphere of conflict and unspoken words. The figures appear surrounded by the fire of their own emotions, while the tragedy of the scene lies in the simple truth that they could still choose love instead of the hell created between them.
Executed in pointillism using rapidograph pen, the drawing is built from thousands of microscopic dots that create subtle depth, texture, and emotional intensity.
