About this artwork
This is a work that pays tribute to femininity, inspired by vestiges of Native American cultures, with implicit dialogues and devotions to European art
The 4 pictorial images have as references the ceramics with effigy of the Venus of Valdivia, an Ecuadorian culture, which flourished about 5,000 years ago, which developed on the Pacific coast, in South America.
The colors are also native. With this red the author relates the tropical region, due… to its land, products and the colorations of the tropical flowers. In fact, by contrast, opposite tones also appear: blues and greens. The arrangement of the figures on the red is free to create tension and movement.

« I live trying to recover, permanently, the world of childhood, of dreams, of fantastic visions, through my own pictorial perception. »
Miguel Betancourt is an experienced painter from Ecuador. The central themes of his work are Ecuadorian landscapes, trees, architecture, the Andes and their colors as well as the dancers who live in this region of the country. Betancourt’s paintings oscillate between figuration and what is called the abstract, between geometric structures and an expressionist chaos.
