About this artwork
This is an image that combines the female face with the sweetness and sensuality of a pink flower, to the point that the eye also takes the shape of a petal. It would seem that the flower germinates on a woman's chin. This work has a prominent texture derived from jute, a rough textile, which contributes to the idea of recycling. In any case, in this painting, the hardness of the support is a counterpoint to the shapes and tones of the female face.… For the rest, it also has movement inspired by those vertical lines in three sectors that contrast with the blue of the background. These vertical rhythms in some way infuse modernity into the work.

« I live trying to recover, permanently, the world of childhood, of dreams, of fantastic visions, through my own pictorial perception. »
Miguel Betancourt is an experienced painter from Ecuador. The central themes of his work are Ecuadorian landscapes, trees, architecture, the Andes and their colors as well as the dancers who live in this region of the country. Betancourt’s paintings oscillate between figuration and what is called the abstract, between geometric structures and an expressionist chaos.
