My work “Velvet Dissonance” takes the visual narrative of the series “The Duality of Passion” a decisive step further by flooding the strict structure with chromatic energy. Here, the deep, almost mystical violet and the underlying glow of a warm earth tone break into the dense grid of lines, altering the temperature of the entire space.
The title describes the fascinating contradiction inherent in this work: the chromatic maturation lends the mathematically… precise moiré structure an almost tactile, pillow-soft surface – a visual seduction. Yet beneath this velvety sheen lies the cunning perception of a profound distortion. It is the eternal tension of passion, which can be simultaneously comforting and unsettling, harmonious and dissonant.
