About this artwork
Goods as well as ideas and culture were exchanged via the ancient Silk Road, which connected Europe with the Far East. In the form of colors and patterns that could be fabrics, the artist takes up the idea of mingling cultures.
The artwork is made with brush and palette knife in mixed media on canvas and has a strong structure. The plastic foil packaging materials incorporated into the picture express the beauty of things that are actually there… to be thrown away. The sides of the image are also processed, resulting in a lively, three-dimensional look. The picture is varnished. It needs no frame and is ready to hang.
