Venice... a subject that inspires me endlessly.
The light, the color, the reflections on the water, the architecture—everything evokes an almost palpable nostalgia. Each brushstroke aims to transport the viewer into these alleyways steeped in history, inviting reverie and escape into this world frozen between past and present.

« I love the idea of representing life not as it is but as the artist draws and understands it, through dreams and emotional moments. »
Mitro (born 1957 in Romania) is an internationally renowned painter, recognized for his role in contemporary figurative art. A graduate of the National University of Arts in Bucharest, he received extensive training in painting, sculpture and engraving. After gaining early recognition, he moved to France in 1990, where his career took on an international dimension.
His art is distinguished by the boldness of colors and the deconstruction of figurative forms, creating vibrant and poetic works. Inspired by life, nature and big cities, his work transcends borders and reaches a global audience.
Based in Normandy, Mitro continues to paint and exhibit internationally. His daughter Maria, who runs the Galerie Saint-André near Rouen, continues his artistic legacy.
